This self transformation isn’t about looking better, being more productive, or leveling up in the world’s way. This is a spiritual transformation. We’re doing this with God at the center, and that changes everything.
If you’re a Christian, you already know:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” – Zechariah 4:6
Your willpower alone won’t sustain you. Real, lasting change happens when you surrender to God’s power.
What is Transformation / Glowing Up?
The World’s Definition of a Glow-Up
If you search “how to glow-up” on social media, you’ll find stories of people improving their looks, finances, and lifestyle. The world defines a glow-up as:
“A significant and often profound change in character, perspective, or behavior, signifying a shift from one state of being to another—usually a positive improvement.”
It’s all about external transformation—getting fit, dressing better, gaining confidence, or securing financial stability. These things aren’t bad, but they’re not enough.
God’s Definition of Transformation
Biblical transformation is deeper. It’s not just about changing your habits; it’s about changing your heart.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2
This glow-up isn’t just about what you do—it’s about who you are becoming through Christ.
Worldly transformation is self-driven.
Biblical transformation is Spirit-led.
This is why so many people burn out on self-improvement. They rely on their own strength instead of allowing God to renew them from the inside out.
Why Glow Up with God?
Because you’ve tried doing it on your own, and let’s be real—it hasn’t worked.
- You’ve read the self help books.
- You’ve attended the self help seminars.
- You’ve followed the gurus.
- You’ve forced discipline.
And yet… something still feels off. You’re still stuck in cycles that don’t lead to transformation.

That’s because sanctification isn’t a human effort—it’s God’s work. You cannot transform yourself. Your role is to surrender and allow God to do the work in you.
Self-Improvement Without God Leads to Frustration
Have you ever noticed that the more you try to fix yourself, the more exhausted you feel? You set goals, create vision boards, and push yourself… but deep down, you still feel empty.
That’s because true transformation isn’t about doing more—it’s about becoming more like Christ and aligning with GOD will and unique purpose for your life.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6
God is already working on you. The question is: Are you going to let Him?
The Problem: “How to Get Back To Your Self” – “How To Become The Best Version Of Yourself“
A lot of us have a version of ourselves that we think was our “best.” Maybe you were more disciplined, more productive, or more joyful. And now, you’re trying to get back to that.
But let me challenge you:
The version of yourself you’re trying to return to is the same one that led you here.
What if God doesn’t want you to go back—but to become someone completely new?
If you want real transformation, you have to let go of the past version of you. It’s time to stop trying to return and start allowing God to remake you.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:18-19
Step 1: How To Surrender To God – Let God Undo You
If you truly want to glow up with God, you have to let yourself be undone.
Here’s how to start:
- Pray for Alignment – Ask God to shift your desires to match His will.
- Renew Your Mind – Pray for a complete paradigm shift. Your mind cannot stay fixed on the things of this world. (Romans 12:2)
- Remove Distractions – This month, clear out anything that pulls you away from God’s presence.
Create a routine, habits and structures that grow you spiritually. Curate social media feeds that cause you to want to do the things of GOD instead of those that cause you to covert.
Curate a music playlists that worships and glorifies GOD not ones that teach your flesh to desire sin. Be very intentional about every single area of your life.
You need to be intentional about setting an appointment with GOD daily and making sure to show up because HE always will.
Step 2: Build a Strong Foundation
If you’re serious about this glow-up, there are four non-negotiables:
1. Discipline – Teaching Your Flesh to Submit
- Your flesh wants comfort, but your spirit desires growth.
- The best way to strengthen your spirit? Fasting. It teaches you self-denial and dependence on God.
There are so many different types of fasting, you can fast from food, social media, sex (if you are married and you are in agreement with your spouse), news or everything. Whatever has your most attention, cut it off for a month.
2. Bible Study – Knowing God’s Voice -How to Hear God’s Voice
- You cannot hear from God if you don’t know His voice.
- Pick a Bible study plan and stick to it. I am currently doing a 365 Chronological Bible study plan by YouVersion bible.

3. Fellowship – Find a Church
- Online sermons won’t cut it, bestie.
- The Bible commands us: “Let us not neglect meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another.” – Hebrews 10:25
4. Obedience – Follow Through
- God will speak to you. Your job is to listen and obey.
- Write down what He tells you. Get my favourte journal here.
- Meditate on His Word.
- Apply it to your daily life.
What’s Next?
For this first month, your focus is simple:
✅ Remove distractions and focus on God.
✅ Spend intentional time in prayer and Bible study. Sometimes reading the bible can feel confusing and a little too much to read. Please up to our newletter for weekly encouragement and scripture breakdowns.
✅ Obey what He tells you.
After this, we’ll map out your glow-up with a vision board—not based on what you want, but what God has revealed.
